SPARTAN COUNSELOR APPRENTICES
Current Steward students are invited to apply for the Spartan Counselor
Apprentice (SCA) program. Learning to be helpful stewards is an important
component of the early teen years, and this program is a fantastic way for
students in rising grades 8-10 to take leadership roles during the summer. They
will work with a variety of teachers and students each week, leading younger
groups around campus and assisting instructors with lessons.
Through this program, the young counselors will be helpful to our talented
teachers with an opportunity to serve as volunteers in a low-key setting.
Interested students should submit applications and will take part in short
interviews as part of the selection process. The application includes a place
for parents to mark the weeks their students are available during the summer.
Students who need to submit volunteer hours for school can apply their
working time from this experience.
VIRGINIA OUTSIDE “OUTSIDE CAMP”
“Outside Camp” will appeal to any kid who likes to be outdoors exploring
nature and wild places. The name speaks for itself, as we spend an entire week
exploring the outdoors. Each day we will enjoy a different activity including
fishing, tubing, hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking! We transport campers
to rivers, ponds, and trails, and provide all equipment. Campers need only bring
their sense of adventure.
