» 1950 | Annual Convention Secondary school member coaches petitioned the Executive Committee to add sessions on the fundamentals of the sport to the list of clinics scheduled.
» February 1950 This saw the introduction of ads to the Newsletter. In 1949 it had been necessary to increase the dues to help cover the cost of the Newsletter, but by February 1950, the first advertisement for Mas Doss’ Soccer Sport Supply Company had been included.
» March 1951 Hugh Barron became the chair of both the NSCAA Annual Meeting Committee and the new secondary schools. This led to a new dues structure in 1953 offering a collegiate membership and a secondary school membership.
» May 1953 | Newsletter 261 members on the books and referee ratings were included and NSCAA-member coaches clinics were included in the Newsletter
» 1956 | Annual Convention Panel discussion on“ How Soccer Can Be Made Popular in America.”
» 1957 | Soccer Journal The Newsletter was renamed Soccer Journal, which was the chosen name between Soccer Journal and Soccer Scope. This change also led to the use of a glossy stock paper to enhance the publication’ s appearance.
» 1958“ Center Circle” of Soccer Journal tackled the issue of ethics in coaching.
» 1959 The first NCAA Soccer Tournament was held at UConn in the fall and eight films were rented from the NSCAA Film Library. John McKeon, Mel Schmid and Alan Moore took a critical look at the All-America selection process and determined that processes were working.

» 1960-1969 | Membership Growth The NSCAA went from 419 members in 1960 to 1,121 in 1969.
» 1962 Proposal to employ a full-time Executive Director who would be salaried and run the daily affairs of the Association.
» 1966 Full-time volunteer, Gordon Anziano announced as the Executive Director by President Irv Schmid. Anziano resigned later that year.
» 1969 Mickey Cochrane, President, announced the annual convention would be moving out of New York City for the first time, heading to St. Louis in 1972.
