What is your current position ? I am a staff attorney for the Northeast Judicial District .
What is your hometown , college attended , and law school attended ? I grew up in Edmore , your classic North Dakota small town . I attended Hamline University and the University of North Dakota . I attended the University of North Dakota School of Law .
What professional work did you do before law school ? What led you to a career in law ? I went straight from undergrad to law school . I was a volunteer EMT for 10 years , loved it , and considered becoming a physician . However , my aversion to math and chemistry ultimately led me to opt for law school over med school . After law school , I clerked for then Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle at the North Dakota Supreme Court .
How long have you been on the SBAND Board ? This is my first time serving on the SBAND Board , and I am incredibly excited to learn how this committed , passionate group serves not just our profession , but the citizens of North Dakota .
What other involvement have you had with SBAND prior to being on the board ? I am also a Women ’ s Law Section Regional Representative . I was on the Inquiry Committee Northeast for four years , serving as chair for several years , and served on the CLE Commission for six years before that . Currently , I also serve as the secretary / treasurer for the Lake Region Bar Association .
