OLIVER BROMKE
Oliver Bromke is the newly appointed Wells County State ’ s Attorney and owner of the Bromke Law Firm in Grand Forks . He primarily focuses his practice on prosecution , having previously served as an assistant state ’ s attorney for Grand Forks County and Burleigh County . Prior to being admitted to the bar in North Dakota and Minnesota , he spent a year as a judicial clerk in Kodiak , Alaska .
Before moving west to find his fortune , Bromke spent his whole life in a South Jersey suburb of
Philadelphia . He holds a bachelor of arts in journalism from Rowan University and completed his juris doctor at Rutgers Law School , during which time he served as a staff editor for the " Rutgers Law Review ." He will also be pursuing a PhD in criminal justice at North Dakota State University starting in August , with the long-term goal of conducting original academic research on the North Dakota justice system .
Bromke lives in Grand Forks with his wife , Naomi , ( who is starting her 1L year at the University of North Dakota School of Law this fall ) and their cat , Kellye , ( who is not ). In his spare time , he serves as a member of the board of directors for the North Dakota State ’ s Attorneys ’ Association and contributes to the " North Dakota Monitor " as a freelance writer .
BENNETT LYSTAD
Bennett Lystad is an associate attorney at Vogel Law Firm ’ s Moorhead office . He practices in the estate planning , probate , and real estate areas . He is a member of the Cass County Bar
Association , Red River Valley Estate Planning Council , and Ronald N . Davies Inns of Court .
Lystad grew up in Crosby and attended North Dakota State University , where he earned his bachelor ’ s degree in finance with a minor in accounting . After his undergraduate studies , he worked for Bell Bank as a personal banker .
Lystad attended the University of North Dakota School of Law , graduating magna cum laude in 2022 . He was honored as a member of the Order of the Coif . During law school , he was actively involved in the " North Dakota Law Review ," serving as its editor-in-chief . Following graduation from law school , Lystad began working at the Vogel Law Firm .
Outside of work , he keeps busy with his family . Lystad and his wife , Alexa , have two boys , Oliver and Jonathan , and one girl , Indy . They reside in Fargo . In his spare time , he enjoys watching the Bison , Twins , and Vikings , running , and reading .
