Nerdy Derby
For sheer fun and excitement you just can ’ t beat Nerdy Derby Day . As the mini cars that third and fourth graders designed and built raced down the 50-foot track in Hyman Hall , boys and adults in attendance alike couldn ’ t help but cheer and be swept up in the excitement . Winners were called in three races : Fastest Car , Slowest Car , and King of the Hill ( car has to stop atop the hill ). Boys were also recognized for their creative designs and sportsmanship . This signature STEAM experience engages boys in interactive design experiences through problem-solving and collaborative challenges as they work through the engineering design cycle to design , build , test and revise their vehicles .

What ’ s better than snuggling with caring adults and reading a book ? Reading a book you wrote and illustrated yourself ! First graders loved reading the Rotten Ralph series and writing and publishing their own stories inspired by the mischievous cat . Upon completion , they presented their books to their parents at a special event in June 2022 .
