GT: Identification and Assessment ...Identifying Diamonds in
the Rough
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Identifying gifted and talented students is like looking for diamonds in the
rough. Their brilliance and roughness often mask each other, but they have
the potential to be brilliant. We just need to find them and help them to
shine and reach their full potential by identifying their gifts and talents. You
will learn what to look for and what types of assessment measures can be
used to find the gems.
NOTES:
Prior to the class you will need to complete products that will require three
hours of your time. These will be posted on the Gifted and Talented
Department page after June 4th. Products will be due via email
([email protected]) to the presenter by July 10th. Email confirmation
will be sent indicating that your products have been received. You may not
attend on August 1st if your products are not received by July 10th. New
hires (after July 1st) will bring completed products to the class. YOU MUST
COMPLETE BOTH THE PRODUCTS AND CLASS TIME TO RECEIVE CREDIT. NO
PARTIAL CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN.
