YOUNG LAWYER SHOWCASE
The North Dakota Young Lawyers Section (YLS) is continuing its efforts to
integrate young lawyers into our state bar and our communities.
This spring YLS once again partnered with the Great Plains Food Bank
to host the third annual “Feed Your Community” food and fund drive.
Communities across the state collected 2,250 pounds of food and raised
$1,890 in monetary donations, equaling an impressive total of 9,435 meals
(more than a 47 percent increase from last year) for the Great Plains Food
Bank. YLS extends a thank you to the co-chairs of the Community Service
Committee and the community volunteers for their hard work in helping
organize the event and to the legal community for the overwhelming
support.
AARON WEBER
The YLS Education and Professionalism Committee will continue to host
webinars featuring various topics. Young lawyers, as well as other licensed
attorneys, are invited to participate in these educational opportunities
to earn continuing legal education credits. Please be on the lookout for
information on upcoming webinars.
Aaron Weber is an associate attorney
with Johnson & Sundeen, LTD, in
Watford City. The attorneys at Johnson
& Sundeen practice in numerous fields,
varying from small town matters to
complex litigation.
Please contact Jill Martin, president-elect, at [email protected]
to recommend young lawyers for future showcases or to get involved in YLS.
He grew up in nearby Alexander
and received a bachelor of science
in Unmanned Aircraft Systems from
the University of North Dakota
(UND) in May 2012. In addition, he
also obtained a commercial pilot’s
license and a certified flight instructor
certificate. During summer breaks
between the spring and fall semesters
of undergrad schooling, he worked for
the United States Forest Service as a
wildland firefighter, which consisted
of long periods of boredom followed
by moments of sheer terror and
excitement.
Aaron graduated magna cum laude
from the UND School of Law in May
2015. He was involved with the
Criminal Law Association and Moot
Court. After graduation, he was
admitted into the Order of the Coif.
Outside of the office, Aaron enjoys
hunting, fishing, gardening, raising
free range chickens, watching
Fighting Sioux hockey and the super
bowl bound Minnesota Vikings, and
volunteering with his hometown
volunteer fire department, where
he recently passed his firefighter 1
certification exam.
