Heritage centers provide interactive activities and immersive learning experiences about local history. Engaging young people is essential for connecting them with history and ensuring the center ' s longterm relevance and growth. One challenge is that the center is sometimes seen as outdated, mainly because it has been visited several times. Modern technologies are an interesting way to add new, unexplored dimensions. However, modern technologies can sometimes conflict with the historical atmosphere.
Reimagine History in 3D
To explore digitalization as a strategy, 3D visualization has been demonstrated and discussed in collaboration with a heritage center. This case illustrates how 3D visualizations can support a center’ s attraction. The collaboration has resulted in, for example, a solution for the museum ' s virtual tours. Such a solution could also improve accessibility for people with physical disabilities in historic buildings with narrow corridors and no elevators.
