he 6th Latin America
and the Caribbean
Regional Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Action, held on November 28 and 29, was attended by 300 people, gathered in person at Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, and nearly 250 people connected virtually. Under the slogan “Regional solutions for regional challenges,” the Platform had a conducting thread,
in the form of a jigsaw puzzle, in which the key points discussed during the different sessions of the event were recorded.
One of the main highlights during the event was the steps taken towards integration, with the support of regional organizations such as the Coordination Center for Disaster Prevention in Central America and the Dominican Republic (CEPREDENAC), and the opportunities identified with the Andean Community (CAN-CAPRADE). Meanwhile, local voices from colombian community representatives of La Guajira, Sucre and Nariño, called for ensuring that the role of communities is at the center, both in the design and implementation of anticipatory actions, as in future Dialogue Platforms.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution; integration and localization are crucial to
address the challenges in
the region.
