increasing vulnerability situations experienced by thousands of Central American communities, facing climate and complex social challenges, the “Integrated Program for Strengthening Community Disaster Risk Reduction and Preparedness of National Societies” facilitated a Training of Trainers (ToT) for community resilience. The course was supported by the

Costa Rican Red Cross Community Resilience and Environment Reference Center (CRREC). It was held during May 2024 in El Salvador, with 29 representatives from Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Ecuador. One of the main pillars of the training is

the development and facilitation of the Expanded Vulnerability and Capability Analysis (EVCA), a participatory tool that allows the collection of sources for disaster risk reduction; it helps movilize communities and initiate resilience- building processes.
