Honduran Red Cross, the Guatemalan Red Cross, the Costa Rican Red Cross and the Nicaraguan Red Cross participated from October 18 to the 22nd in the Technical Exchange on methodologies for Anticipating Tropical Storms and Droughts.
The event was organized in Copán Ruinas, Honduras, to promote a space for sharing experiences among the National Societies of Central America.
More than 40 people participated in the exchange, including coordinators of FbF initiatives in each country, Risk Management focal points, Cash Transfer Program focal points, as well as logistics and finance staff.
The event's agenda included interactive sessions about the analysis of historical impacts of Tropical Storms and Droughts in each country, mechanisms for the activation of Early Action Plans, selection of possible early actions and variables in risk models. The participants worked both in country and diverse teams.
These types of exchanges represent a unique opportunity to strategically address different problems in the region and at the level of each national context.
