CHALLENGES
Switching to maintenance was harder than I thought it’d be. Add
more calories. EASY, right? Not really. It took a couple of tries to
figure it out.
Plateaus were tough. Fortunately I only had two. But they
lasted a month each. In the end you have to trust the process.
CICO works.
For a time, I had a tough time having an accurate mental
image of what I looked like. Did I look overweight anymore?
Did I look slim? The brain takes time to catch up to the body.

sURPRISES
Never imagined myself at this weight. When I started I had
planned to stop around 170. But I kept changing my goals
because I wanted to be solidly in healthy weight range. 140!
Occasionally while out, I would catch glimpses of myself in
unfamiliar mirrors or panes of glass. Always a bit of a shock. In
a good way!
I’m really surprised that at 50 this was no harder than it was at
25. I think there is this idea that middle age means you can’t
lose weight or that it willl be drudgery. NOT TRUE!
