difficult to pinpoint a specific thing.
But, I think one of the greatest
lessons I’ve learned is to always be
prepared. You never know when
opportunity will come knocking at
your door.
Let me share a story with you. I
attended a Corporate Mingle event in
2010 and met a popular television
personality. She was so excited about
my business that she took my number
and promised to call me with a Smile
Jamaica interview opportunity. Little
did I know that her call would come
the following day.
A slot was available for Monday. I was
completely caught off guard and
wasn’t sure what to do. I told her that
I would call her back in five minutes
and she warned me that the
opportunity could vanish if I didn’t call
back within five minutes. I consulted
with a friend who encouraged me to
take the opportunity. I returned the
call. My time - eight minutes. The
opportunity had vanished. However,
she was nice enough to pass on my
information to her producer so I
was able to get an interview on
another day. I learnt my lesson
though. Never again would I botch
such an opportunity.
Describe Fruit Blossoms in one
word.
Dynamic. It changes constantly to
meet demand and I haven’t
unlocked its full potential yet. The
possibilities are endless.
