me. I had stopped adding value in
the workplace and that’s when I
truly knew that it was time for me
to leave.
Most people would advise you to
never leave your job unless you
have at least three months worth
of salary saved. I guess that advice
fell on deaf ears for me. My last
pay cheque was all I had. I woke up
on April Fool’s Day saying, “Well,
this is it. I have to make this work!”

managing business finances?
To be honest, money management
is something that I have to be
working on continuously. I know
that many small businesses make
the mistake of mixing personal
finances with business finances.
When you stop making that error,
and start keeping more accurate
records, you’ll find that things
start falling into place.

Finding people who are committed
to work with a small business and
buy into our vision has been
challenging. However, I can truly
say that I now have a good team of
highly enthused young people.
