Menta Healt &th Entrepreneur By: Kristina Buddho Entrepreneurs are notoriously ambitious and always on-the-go with a ‘don’t stop ‘till you get it done’, almost obsessive attitude about their businesses and projects. In the world of entrepreneurship, this mindset is celebrated and seen as a form of ‘crazy’ that all entrepreneurs should strive for. After all, you have to be crazy to change the world, right? Except, this type of thinking could actually negatively affect entrepreneurs. An entrepreneur’s mind is a powerful tool that he or she must use to navigate through the failures and successes of owning a business. Therefore, having the right mindset is important. Build a stronger mind by building your self-esteem; be bold and confident about your ideas as this will help you combat the naysayers and, trust me, there will be plenty of those. How many times have you heard that hard work is the way to success or Become your own cheerleader. Don’t depend on others to help you chase you should strive to achieve your goals? Now, I’m not saying that these your goals; you have to pave your way and keep yourself going. We have been told what counts as success and how to become successful ever since pre-school. You have to be an honour student in order to have a ‘good’ job in the future and you should always succeed and never fail or you will be labelled as a failure. But the reality is that being an ‘A’ student in high school or college does not guarantee success and ‘failing’ is the ONLY way to become a great entrepreneur. Once you learn this, you will be better prepared for the journey of entrepreneurship and you’ll be able to use your failures to help you get better, even if it means trying a dozen times. We are constantly in a state of stress. We may have deadlines to meet, clients to please, financial constraints to deal with, pressure from family and friends and on top of that, we have the stress we put on ourselves to always strive for success. Many times we forget to celebrate our successes, especially when we don’t feel like we have reached our end goal. We forget to just have fun, get some exercise, eat right, do some yoga, relax and take time off. Even some of us who do take time off still find ourselves talking about business or dealing with business while on vacation and I get it, I am guilty of the same thing! It is my passion and sometimes I feel like I can’t help myself but I always keep in mind the importance of relaxing the mind, reflecting and regrouping in order to start again stronger. This is how you thrive! An entrepreneur cannot always be on the go; he or she will eventually run out of gas. Issue : July
