How $ 2,000 Revealed an Entrepreneur
One of the most hotly debated topics is whether entrepreneurs are born or made . Brian Clarke , cofounder of Fort Spring Farms , is arguably someone who has been gied with an entrepreneurial mind . His entrepreneurial journey began when he was about twelve years old and preparing to start first form at Manchester High School .
It was the beginning of summer and all he had was $ 2,000 . He knew that he would need about $ 9,000 by the end of summer but only one queson was ringing in his mind , “ How would he turnover $ 2,000 to reach his $ 9,000 goal ?”. That ’ s when he noced a business opportunity within his family . His parents , sister and people in his community used phone cards a lot . Why not use that $ 2,000 to buy some phone cards at a wholesale price and sell them for profit ? He followed this path and ended up with $ 12,000 by the end of summer - $ 4,000 more than he had planned .
It is , therefore , not surprising that Brian and a team of six other likeminded businessmen partnered to launch the rebranded version of
Brian ’ s parents ’ beloved Fort Spring Farms in May 2018 . Fort Spring Farms delivers high quality local produce to customers in Mandeville , St . Andrew and Kingston . I caught up with Brian recently to learn more about the growth of his business and the secret to his success .

This revamped approach had to focus on convenience and quality and meant that I had to find a strong team of partners who would make this vision a reality .
