Jumping ahead to the 2017 model year , Canada received its first market-specific special-edition BRZ . Labelled the Inazuma Edition , it was based on the BRZ Limited with the optional Performance Package . That package included a Brembo braking system with 4-piston calipers in the front and dual-piston calipers at the back . Also included were Sachs dampers , a blistering yellow exterior paint scheme with black trim elements , and front seats emblazoned with a yellow BRZ logo . The BRZ Inazuma Edition was available in extremely limited numbers and sold out quickly . black interior treatment with contrasting blue stitching
A year later , a new Subaru BRZ tS made its appearance — and this time Canada was included in the fun . Painted in an exclusive Ceramic White scheme , the 2018 Subaru BRZ tS also featured black badging , wheels , side mirrors , and shark fin roof antenna , as well as STI cherry-red accent stripes . The most notable feature of all was the extra-large , carbon fibre rear wing .
Jumping ahead to 2020 , the BRZ tS returned with a host of performance upgrades . The list included STI-tuned coil springs , front suspension flexible draw stiffener and SACHS performance dampers . This version of the tS rode on Michelin ® Pilot Sport 4 high-performance tires mounted on matte bronze painted forged aluminum alloy wheels . In the passenger cabin , highlights included red seat belts , interior trim with red accents , a frameless rearview mirror , an STI gauge cluster , and an STI leather-wrapped shifter and steering wheel .
Now , four years later , we have the new 2024 Subaru BRZ tS which is , of course , based on the second-generation car that was released in 2021 . As with the previous BRZ tS models , this latest variation features performance and appearance improvements galore .
The starting point for the BRZ tS is a strong one . Power comes from the 2.4-litre naturally aspirated SUBARU
Brembo ® braking system
BOXER 4-cylinder engine , which develops 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque . The only transmission available is a close-ratio 6-speed manual . Also standard is a Torsen ® limited-slip differential and Vehicle Stability Control with a track mode setting .
The BRZ tS also features a Brembo braking system with gold-painted 4-piston front calipers , gold-painted dual-piston rear calipers , and larger brake pads and rotors . In driving the car , these enhancements create increased stopping power , improved resistance to brake fade and boosted pedal feel .
