Child Restraint Systems
& When Installing the Forward Facing Child Restraint System on the Front Passenger’ s Seat s01ag15
that uses tether straps, do not install it on the front passenger’ s seat.
Only forward facing child restraint systems( including booster seats) can be installed on this seat and should only be installed when it is unavoidable. When you install a forward facing child restraint system to the front passenger’ s seat, perform the following procedure.
1. Adjust the front passenger’ s seat as illustrated.
2. Install the child restraint system to the front passenger’ s seat. Refer to“ Installing a forward facing child restraint system” FP69.
3. Place and secure the child in the child restraint system.
4. Check that the front passenger’ s frontal airbag ON / OFF indicator light status meets the requirements of your child restraint system.
WARNING
. NEVER INSTALL A REARWARD FACING CHILD RESTRAINT SYS- TEM ON THE FRONT PASSEN- GER’ S SEAT. DOING SO RISKS SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO THE CHILD BY PLACING THE CHILD’ S HEAD TOO CLOSE TO THE SRS AIRBAG.
