CAUTION
. Do not spray neutral detergent directly onto the display( s). Doing so could damage the monitor’ s components.
. Do not wipe the display( s) with a hard cloth. Doing so could scratch the monitor.
. Do not use cleaning fluid that contains thinner, gasoline, or any other volatile substance. Such cleaning fluid could erase the lettering on the switches on the display( s).
CLEANING THE HIGH VOL- TAGE BATTERY AIR INTAKE s10ac12
Be sure that you clean the high voltage battery air intake if there is dust or dirt on the high voltage battery air intake, or if the following messages are displayed on the combination meter display:“ High Voltage Battery Cooling Performance Reduced” and“ Battery Air Cooling Filter Is Clogged Check Owner’ s Manual”.
1. Turn the push-button ignition switch to the“ OFF” position.

2. When dust accumulates on the cover of the high voltage battery air intake, remove the dust using a vacuum cleaner.
3. Start the hybrid system and check that“ High Voltage Battery Cooling Performance Reduced” and“ Battery Air Cooling Filter Is Clogged Check Owner’ s Manual” are no longer displayed on the combination meter display. You may need to drive for about 20 minutes in order to clear the warning message. If these messages continue to be displayed after you drive the vehicle for a while, have the vehicle inspected by a SUBARU dealer.

When cleaning the high voltage battery air intake, observe the following: Failure to do so may cause a vehicle breakdown, or vehicle fire, and result in electric shock, other serious injuries or even death.
. Do not clean the high voltage battery air intake using water or any liquid.
. Do not clean the high voltage battery air intake while the hybrid system is running.
. Do not put hands or feet in the high voltage battery air intake.
CAUTION
When cleaning the high voltage battery air intake, pay attention to the following. Failure to do so may result in a decrease in the output of the high voltage battery or a vehicle malfunction.
. Do not use an air blow gun for cleaning to keep dust from entering the high voltage battery air intake.
. Do not put water or any foreign materials in the high voltage battery air intake.
