• If , for example , you are leaning on the steering wheel while incapacitated , the system may not be able to determine that you are incapacitated and cannot activate .
• This system determines whether you are incapacitated based on factors such as whether you are operating the steering wheel and with the Driver Monitoring System ( if equipped ). If you intentionally do not operate the steering wheel , close your eyes or hide part of your face even when you are not incapacitated , the system will still activate . If the system urges you to operate the steering wheel or to operate the steering wheel and keep your eyes on the road , operate the steering wheel immediately keeping your eyes on the road .
• Do not intentionally activate Emergency Stop Assist . Doing so may result in an unexpected accident . Also , do not drive if you are feeling unwell .
CAUTION
• If the system determines that you are on a curve , it continues to control the vehicle without stopping .
• If the system cancels lane centering control , such as on a sharp curve , it may not be able to keep the vehicle in the lane and may depart the lane .
• If Lane Centering Function is canceled by the system before the system has determined that you are incapacitated , Emergency Stop Assist will not activate .
• If the system determines that it cannot continue deceleration and lane centering control , it may cancel these controls .
• The stereo camera may have difficulty detecting the lane markings under the following conditions , and the system may not be able to effectively slow down the vehicle or stay in the lane . - In bad weather ( for example , rain , snow or thick fog )
• Pre-Collision Braking System takes precedence in situations where Emergency Stop Assist can also operate .
