You will also work on national initiatives and campaigns with partners such as the National Union of Students. What is a manifesto? A manifesto is simply a description of what the candidate intends to do if they are elected. Each candidate will submit a manifesto of no more than 100 words to the College’s Marketing team who will create campaign materials for them, based upon their manifesto. 10 How do I put myself forward? What is a Returning Officer? If you are interested in taking up this exciting opportunity you will need to self– nominate, which basically means that you put yourself forward to be an Ayrshire College Student Association Student President or Vice President. The Returning Officer is someone appointed by the Student Association to ensure that the elections are conducted properly and fairly. The Returning Officer can appoint deputies to help out with the running of the elections. This year the Returning Officer is Ann Heron, who is Head of Quality Engagement within Ayrshire College. You will be able to submit your nomination via Moodle from 29 March. Moodle will include full details of the positions and instructions on how to nominate yourself. Why should I vote?
