In the application you may enter up to seven partner universities of your choice and in the order of your preference. When making your exchange university selections, consider the language of instruction, the local language, available fields of study, semester dates, travel advisories, etc. For further information please see the following pages: • Overview of partner universities and possible exchange terms: http://studentweb.unisg.ch – Exchange – Partner universities • Experience reports: http://studentweb.unisg.ch – Exchange – Before an exchange – quick link to experience report database • Brochures partner universities: bookcases on the 2nd floor at Tellstrasse 2 • Partner university websites • www.eda.admin.ch / www.bag.admin.ch Specific language requirements: SMO requires only the English language certificate for the exchange application. However, students are responsible for checking if the universities they have selected require any further language certificates and to submit these with their exchange application. Selection process After the deadline, applications will be evaluated based on satisfying minimum requirements. Available exchange places are allocated on the basis of academic achievement and preferences (the student with the highest grade average receives first choice of exchange place). There are no guarantees that you will be allocated a place at one of your preferred universities. Application results will be published in the Mobility-Online portal by the end of January. Once an exchange place has been allocated, it is binding. Students not allocated an exchange place will receive information on available exchange places, should any remain, and may select up to four additional priorities for the second selection round which will then take place. Students who indicated fewer than seven priorities and who are not allocated an exchange place during the first selection round are not permitted to participate in the second s election round. If you are not allocated a place at any of the your selected universities, application to Freemover or Swiss Mobility programmes is still possible. 17 Partner universities Selecting universities for an exchange
