This is my favorite book of ALL TIME, even though I bet you’ ve never heard of it. Considering I am a pretty critical reader, this book has got to be good for me to like it. It’ s about two twelve-year-olds that live on the same island. One is a Native American-type girl( they call them Colays) named Lucy and the other is the“ Child Governor,” or president-like figure, and is named Snowcap. They embark on an adventure to save themselves, save their cultures, save the last Colay baby ever, and find out why all of the Colay men have turned to stone. Even though Snowcap is fleeing from people trying to murder her, she is helping Lucy. Now don’ t get me wrong, the girls hate each other at first. The best part of the story is how they learn to get along! If you’ re like me and like“ realistic fantasy,” as in fantasy written so believably that it seems completely real, You. Will. Love. This. Book. Five bajillion stars!
