III. ATTENDANCE
are issued. Any textbook that is lost, not returned, or damaged beyond normal wear may result in a charge for the replacement cost of the book. Students with outstanding textbook fines may be restricted from receiving additional textbooks until fines are resolved. It is the student’ s responsibility to clear all fines in a timely manner.
To ensure accountability, textbooks should not be left in classrooms or shared, loaned, or transferred to other students for use.

III. ATTENDANCE

The Attendance Office is located at the front of the school beside Admin I. The office is open from 7:45am to 2:45pm.
Students are strongly encouraged to attend school daily. There is no substitute for actual classroom instruction.
• ParentVue rolls up with students from one grade to the next. When a new student enrolls, the enrolling adult creates a ParentVue account to register.
• Parents can check their student’ s daily attendance, grades, and attendance history by accessing ParentVue on the District’ s WEBSITE.
• The Cobb County Public System maintains an automated phone system that calls the home of any student shown absent for the day.
• A student is expected to attend all classes and is not entitled to class cuts – there is no“ Senior Skip” day.
• No Open Campus – Students are not to leave campus for any reason without following proper checkout procedures. Leaving campus for‘ personal’ reasons is also not acceptable.
• Work-Based Learning Program – Students must leave campus after their last class or forfeit parking privileges and release status. WBL students must carry their WBL pass at all times.
• A student must be present for two( 2) full class periods to be counted present for the day.
AFTER AN ABSENCE: If a student misses school, an email excuse of CTLS message must be received within three( 3) days of the absence. Submit excuses and doctor’ s notes to the Attendance Office: Kathleen. Corrao @ cobbk12. org
If you believe the reported class absence is an error, you or your student must contact the teacher to correct the error. If the teacher determines an update needs to occur, they will inform the Attendance Office. In accordance with District policy, you have three( 3) days from the occurrence to request a review / change.
ABSENCES( EXCUSED): The State Board of Education policy allows only the following circumstances as Excused Absences: 1. Personal illness. 2. Doctor Visit – Doctor’ s note must be submitted. 3. A serious illness or death in a student’ s immediate family. Immediate family is
