III. ACADEMICS
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY HONOR POLICY All students are expected to adhere to the Academic Integrity Honor Policy, which states:
“ I certify the work that I am submitting is my original work. I have not shared nor exchanged information or materials with anyone, nor will I do so in the future. Additionally, I will immediately notify a teacher if I become aware that another student has compromised the policy.”
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Copying another student’ s work. b. Giving another student access to your work. c. Informing students of content that was present on an assessment when that student may be taking the assessment later in the day.( This includes telling other students specific questions, general topics on which to focus additional review, chapters, homework assignments, labs, etc.) d. Using unauthorized materials such as websites, cheat sheets, cell phones, cliff notes, artificial intelligence( AI) etc. that are not specifically approved by the teacher. e. Completing or making a significant contribution to someone else’ s assignment or allowing someone else to complete or make a significant contribution to an assignment for you. f.

Providing false information to a teacher or administrator during an inquiry related to academic integrity. g. Falsifying official documents such as parent notes. h. Plagiarism, which includes the following: i. Copying content word for word from any source including but not limited to a website, a journal, a book, another student, etc. ii. Paraphrasing content from any source without giving proper citation of the source( Plagiarism is the stealing of“ thoughts” not necessarily exact words). iii. Making up data or sources that do not exist.
CONSEQUENCES: FIRST OFFENSE: Student may receive a zero on the assignment – Teacher will notify parent. Student will receive " U " in conduct on that 6-week report card.
SECOND OFFENSE: Student may receive a zero on the assignment – Teacher will notify parent, and administrator will assign one( 1) day OSS, student will receive“ U” in conduct on that 6-week report card.
COLLEGE ADMISSIONS If you want to get into college and be successful, it takes hard work, starting in high school. Beginning with your freshman year, you should attend school regularly, take rigorous classes, participate in extra-curricular activities, give back to your community, and do well academically.
To qualify for a National Merit Scholarship, you must take the PSAT in 11 th grade. Most students take the SAT or ACT during the spring of 11 th grade, or the fall of 12 th grade.
