a Big data enabled approach to be
deployed that can help production
managers to lean enough (for production
efficiency) without compromising on the
agility aspect (ability to switch quickly
depending upon a new customer need).
Following are the four crucial
components of a Big data enabled
architecture.
In context of a pharma company's
production line for instance, scale of data
would refer to the amount of data gathered
(daily/weekly/monthly/yearly)
corresponding to the chemical ingredients
that go in individual drug types
These data may assume different forms
such as the ones obtained by visual
means, sensors, and so on. On a broader
level, Big Data helps the organizations to
create new growth opportunities and
entirely new categories of companies
that can combine and analyze industry
data. These companies have ample
information about the products and
services, buyers and suppliers, consumer
preferences that can be captured and
analyzed.
