Being a Proverbs 31 Woman

“’Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeing; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”

How great would it be if that were describing you. Take a look at yourself for a moment; can you say that you do noble things, do you truly believe that a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised rather than a woman who is seeking fortune and fame. Women today are degraded and made to feel as if they are not equal with men; however I would say that one of the biggest problems is that women are putting that label on themselves. We look up to women who we deem to be powerful due to their fame and success, but is that really what it’s all about. We look at the women we see in magazines or on TV and we begin to think that these women are the true form of beauty. I guess to be fair we can get some good tips on how to appear pretty on the outside, but the great thing is, we were each called for something so much greater. We are called to be servants of the Lord, which makes us beautiful daughters of God. A woman after God’s own heart is the most beautiful woman we can be, so why don’t we strive to be that type of women. We need to make becoming a woman of noble character one of our greatest priorities. We should be vigorous workers with our arms outstretched ready to give our best work always and we must clothe the care for the needy. Never let our light shine out and when we become these women we can be deemed women who fear the Lord. May you be clothed with strength and dignity; may you laugh at the days to come. Speak with wisdom and let faithful instruction come from your tongue. May we never lose sight of who we are each made to be; we each have the ability to be Proverbs 31 women, so let’s become just that.
