Stress & Nutrition

By: Nancy Ochoa

My View:

I’m fifteen and I go to high school, Stress has become a part of my life. Ever since entering high school, I became lazier, ignorant, and I became a procrastinator. Yeah it’s great that I finish everything but it sucks having to wait last minute and stress out so much. Thinking you’ll learn from your mistakes? You won’t, I hate the feeling of procrastination, I’ve tried stopping but it became a bad habit. My distractions are online and with that being said, I don’t really take the time to eat right. With my past experience on my 2nd learning opportunity, I got to track my nutrition and learn about it. I lacked in certain areas involving macronutrients and micronutrients. I use to think that healthy meant fruits and salad. It never came to mind that we had to have balanced meals. When we learned about nutrition I discovered that healthy is eating a balanced diet. You can’t just eat whatever has the lowest calories; you have to make sure it’s healthy to you because everyone has different BMI’s. With that being said, I had to start eating right but as time passed by I started forgetting about it until now. I’m planning on eating right when summer come so that I can have everything organized and carry my plan out rather than just saying it.

The Internet’s View:

According to the internet, “Healthy eating means consuming the right quantities of foods from all food groups in order to lead a healthy life.” Not only that, but it also matter when you eat. For example, eating a large breakfast is not the same as eating a large dinner. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. With that being said, it’s okay to eat a large amount of breakfast. You need the energy that breakfast provides; otherwise you’d be sluggish all morning.
