STRESS AGAINST THE WORLD May 2014 | Page 12

My life and physical activity

I use to love being a couch potato. I was those types of people; eat and sleep. With all this research on stress and exercise I realized that I don’t treat my body the way I should be treating. I was starting to gain weight and realized that it was getting bad. I was so self-cautious that I started wearing baggy shirts so that I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. SO when I researched I was like whoa, I need to take care of myself. School really helped me with this. I was lucky enough to learn new movements and techniques that will help me when I’m no longer there. We learned things like deadlifting, running, rowing, yoga and dancing. Ever since I came to fitness, I’ve wanted to go to the gym and get fit. Luckily, I’m going to the gym this summer and hopefully I’ll get in shape by the time summer’s over. When I go I’ll now know what to do to help myself. I also plan to walk, jog, and run once a day when I get the change to. I’m saying goodbye to my couch potato days and moving on to productive days. With that being said, I’m thankful I got to learn what I learned this year because now I can apply it out of school with confidence.
