released by Black and Yellow Entertainment. There are also 13 singles out. Plus there are several remixes done in Africa, Europe and Caribbean. At the moment we are working on a new album. New sound. We are even not taking some of the shows at the moment – its all about the new songs now. Im also doing a few new collaborations – if you noticed I love collaborating and Im very picky about who to do a tune with. Its not about the name – its about the vibe of the artist.
SMM : How did you get into doing motivational lectures and seminars for the youth?
Orisha Sound : Last year I teamed up with organization called Fighting Crime with Rhymes Foundation. I truly believe that positive example, education and opportunities can make a big difference. Youth have so much energy and big dreams – it’s a natural formula for success. Jamaica is one of the most blessed and beautiful places on earth with one of the highest murder rates in the world. Poverty, retribution, drugs, gangs and politics are some of the factors to keep the crime rate at the high level. We are working hard to change this situation, by motivating and educating the youth – they have to know that there are opportunities out there and they have to believe in their talent and grow the knowledge.
SMM : What do you consider to be the best and worst aspects of your career?
Orisha Sound : The best aspect is that Orisha Sound project has worldwide following – I get messages from all over the world – Europe, Asia, Africa, US, Caribbean… I respect and love the fans – I do music for the people – so it is extremely rewarding. I guess the negative
would be – or Id say “the challenge” is that Im not really following any ones path – Just developing my own unique experience and sharing it, so it is not always easy to be based in Jamaica and miss people from Russia or vise versa. Music involves lots of traveling but also lots of time away from the people and places I love.

SMM : What has been your top producing single?
Orisha Sound : I think it is “World War Three: ft Beenie Man – the song got lots of Radio play in USA and Caribbean. Multiple apps, Hawaiian Airlines and servers picked it. The video still has a nice run in different parts of the world. Also Own Ya is a very unique song – it is very loved and remixed a lot by DJs world wide. Sunshine Lady became one of the curriculum songs for Reggae style study at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood lone side 9 other top reggae hits… So it depends what one defines as top producing;)
SMM : What type of educational background do you have and how has it helped further your career?
Orisha Sound : I am a professional musician/singer. I was trained in music – solfeggio, harmony, theory, history, orchestration, arrangement, producing, etc… I played/sang with quartets, orchestras, ensembles – throughout recording sessions or live performances. I’m a member of pro Musicians Union in California. I also taught privately and classes in University of Southern California (Musical Theatre group) and
