• Students report low rates of racism , bullying and discrimination
• High expectations teaching supports students to achieve to their potential
• Classroom expectations are shared , common and consistently applied across the school
How will we make progress towards this strategic goal ?
• KA Teacher Profile role outlines best practice teaching ensuring pedagogy is consistently relevant , challenging and meaningful .
• KA Student Profile role outlines expectations of students with respect to progress , conduct and involvement in the school community
• Student leaders encouraged to spearhead initiatives that celebrate diversity and foster community
• Staff professional learning focused on developing culturally responsive practice ( language , culture and identity ) and high expectations teaching
• Increased international marketing to restore programme to pre- Covid levels
• Introduce gender neutral school uniform based on existing uniform
How will we measure success ?
• Staff and student feedback indicates a strong culture of respectful relationships exists around the school
• Behaviour management strategies ensure dysfunctional behaviour does not affect the learning of others
• Similar rates of punitive measures ( detention , stand-down , suspension ) between Māori and non-Māori
• Active involvement of student leaders in development of new initiatives and in improvement of existing initiatives
• International student numbers restored to previous level
• Conduct student Wellbeing at School survey to evaluate sense of belonging
