What will we see ?
• Implementation of new Level 1 NCEA achievement standards
• Numeracy and literacy corequisite pass rates comparable to schools of a similar profile
• NCEA pass rates higher than schools of a similar profile
• Rates of merit and excellence comparable to schools of a similar profile
• Level 1 NCEA is viewed as a credible and valuable qualification by the HNHS community
• High levels of student engagement in Level 1 courses with positive student feedback
How will we make progress towards this strategic goal ?
• Red , Amber , Green ( RAGs ) strategy modified to align with changes to NCEA
• Teaching programmes and resources are well designed and modified to support student success
• New Teacher Profile ( Kāhui Ako ) encourages best practice teaching to support students to achieve to their potential
• Individual student and school-wide NCEA statistics shared with the school community
How will we measure success ?
• Collect student feedback across all new Level 1 courses to evaluate student engagement , interest and success
• Collect community feedback to evaluate level of support and satisfaction with new Level 1 courses
• NCEA statistics thoroughly analysed for expected outcomes
• Teacher feedback collected in departments indicates high levels of confidence and satisfaction with new Level 1 courses
