Flower farm blooms into county honor Beezie’ s Blooms named Mille Lacs County Farm Family of the Year

MILACA— When most people picture a Mille Lacs County farm, they imagine fields of corn or herds of dairy cows.
Beezie’ s Blooms is changing that image one bouquet at a time.
The flower farm, located just off Highway 23 with colorful fields visible from Highway 169, was recently named the Mille Lacs County Farm Family of the Year.
Owner Randi Greiner started Beezie’ s Blooms in 2017 after moving to Milaca from Colorado, but her love of flower farming began years earlier.
What started as a dream has blossomed into a thriving business growing more than 50 varieties of flowers, including dahlias, zinnias, foxglove and many others.
“ Every year is different, but we’ ve really found our niche,” Greiner said.
When Greiner learned Beezie’ s Blooms had been
selected as the Mille Lacs County Farm Family of the Year, the news came on a day she will never forget.
She received the call in January, the same day her youngest son was hospitalized while doctors investigated a suspected cancer diagnosis.
“ That day was a roller coaster,” Greiner said.“ We got the call for this award and later that night we brought our son into the hospital where he ended up staying for six days. It was a lot. I had no idea what our road ahead would look like.”
Today, her son’ s health has improved and the family has a clearer path forward, giving Greiner time to fully appreciate the recognition.
“ I just feel humbled that we were chosen,” Greiner said.“ I feel so honored, especially being a woman-run farm. It’ s really special.”
“ I hope that with us being selected, we can help inspire others,” she added.“ You don’ t need to fit into that box that society says is a farm. You can farm with the land you have. The whole point is to be doing something that you love and to give back
