during extra curricular activities

The pupils all had a fabulous time with many
given the opportunity to progress further.
Speaking to Stone and Eccleshall Life Mrs
Julie Williamson, year 6 teacher, said: “I am very
proud of the Walton Priory children for their
willingness to learn and enthusiasm for trying
new activities.”
Meanwhile on the evening of Thursday 8th
May, 15 pupils from the school and 10 from
Manor Hill First School performed a dance at the
O
Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford.
The pupils had been working with Dance Nuvo
instructor Kayleigh Fyfe every week at an after
school club in school. The pupil’s dance routine
was a mixture of streetdance and hip hop called
‘Walton Work It’. Much of the choreography was
led by the pupils themselves in particular Amy
Fox, Rebecca Cooper and Megan Winfer who
performed a dance to Flo Rida.
Miss Victoria Atherton, KS2 Co-ordinator and
PE Teacher, said: “We are very proud of our
children; they performed wonderfully at the
theatre and provided excellent leadership skills to
the younger children.”
