CLASS CHAT Families win goodies after Eccleshall egg hunt he winners of Eccleshall Pre School’s Totally Locally egg hunt challenge were announced recently with six year old Mary Hirst the lucky winner picked at random from 38 correct entries. Mary was presented with a prize hamper containing two Easter eggs and activities such as colouring your own bird house, an Easter activity book, Easter chick painting and plenty of colouring! Second and third prize winners were Joziah Johnson age five,) and Jacob Silvester age three, also winning an Easter egg each. This year’s Eggs-troadinary hunt saw Eccleshall Pre School team up with a range of local retailers to hide eggs in a host of unusual places along the high street, before posting their competition entries in a specially decorated Easter post box at Eccleshall library. Entry forms were sold at Little Monsters and local businesses who took part in the egg hunt were Guys and Dolls, Lex & Co, WM Perry, the T 54 June/July 2014 pharmacy, Sean Hirst, iTech, La Maison, Malcolm Gray opticians, and Mr Simms sweet shop. Sally Rowen, manager of Eccleshall Pre School said: “We are grateful to everyone that took part as it helps raise funds for the pre-school whilst getting to know the local shops more and having fun at the same time.” She added: “It was lovely to see the village getting involved, regardless of whether they have children with us or not. It gave us all a real sense of community. We will have to continue to think of unique egg hiding places for next year!” Eccleshall Pre School is a busy childcare setting based at Eccleshall Community Centre in Shaws Lane for Children between the ages of two and five, open from 7.30am to 6pm, 51 weeks a year. The Pre School also operates a before and after school and holiday club (eBASH), for older children aged five to 11. Pictured is six year old Mary Hirst with her prize hamper.
