ECCLESHALL FESTIVAL thrown open to all and sundry. The fifty or so shops in the town centre will also be open for business. A new attraction coming to town for the Street Market will be an imposing ‘Monster’ truck courtesy of Springfield's Day Nursery. The truck will be on static display in the car park of the Crown Surgery all day. Thanks have been extended to the surgery team for permission once again to use the car park. Over the years there has been numerous themes chosen for the Festival Street Market and popular fancy dress competitions, which take place on the day, but with 2014 being the year of the World Cup and United Nations celebrations, the possibilities have been left completely open for people to get creative and come as what ever they choose. Prizes will be awarded to the best stall and best stallholders fancy dress, while visitors to the Festival are also invited to get into the spirit and come in fancy dress too. The hotly contended junior talent contest, the Eccy Factor continues in 2014 with a competition in the Holy Trinity Church for which the stage will be set on Saturday 21st June in the afternoon of the Festival Street Market day. Organisers Peter Wilshaw and Derek Aldred have decided to make it a talent contest just for youngsters this year with entry forms available by post, online and from the Eccleshall library. Talented youngsters are encouraged to show what they can do whether it be singing, playing a musical instrument, performing magic, reading poetry, performing drama, dancing or juggling, with the contest offering the perfect platform to entertain the cr
