‘simply scrumptious’ cupcake recipe book that
has been ‘made in Staffordshire’ was launched
at a special vintage tea party held in Eccleshall
at the end of last year.
Liz Berwick, owner of Simply Scrumptious
Cupcakes, has been building on the success of her
locally produced cupcakes and cake pops by
publishing a 32 page recipe book, which was
officially launched at the tea party held at Eccleshall
Community Centre in December while also retailing
worldwide on Amazon.
Members of the local community attended the
event, where Liz dished out some delicious samples
of her freshly baked cupcakes from her recipe book
including mouth watering flavours such as Black
Bottom, Red Velvet, Oranges and Lemons,
Lavender, Gingerbread, Cappuccino and Mocha,
Strawberry Cheesecake and Carrot and Walnut.
Following the event Liz told Stone and Eccleshall
Life: “The book launch went really well. I made a lot
of sales on the night and a good few more in the run
up to Christmas. I have had some great feedback
from those who have bought it with one customer
getting in touch to let me know that her mum (who
she gave the book to as a Christmas gift) said my
carrot and walnut cake recipe was better than Mary
Berry’s!” High praise indeed.
Liz who lives in Eccleshall also shared some
baking hints and tips, signed copies of the book, and
helped visitors improve their piping techniques with
some demonstrations.
Speaking about the book, 33 year old Liz said:

baking as a pastime, but want to experiment with
flavours and improve their techniques, find out
where to get the best baking supplies, and generally
achieve a more professional finish.”
