STONE MUSIC FESTIVAL is music to organisers ’ ears
Billed as bigger and better than ever before , this year ’ s lineup most certainly didn ’ t disappoint and as well as the Liverpudlian headliners also featured such musical treats as Honey Ryder ; Soul Survivors ; The Vanz ; Murphy ’ s Marbles featuring the Dubliners ’ Sean Cannon ; Kaiser Monkey Killers ; Ben Owen and Festival of Youth Music .
Events were held in a variety of venues throughout the week with the street festivities getting underway on Saturday with the ever popular busking competition followed by a Youth Music and Performing Arts presentation which took place on the stage in the Market Square continuing the festival ’ s support of creative
development of young people and showcasing the array of local talent .
The headline band on Saturday , Soul Survivors took the crowds back to the golden era of classical soul music before the main stage on Sunday sponsored by Renishaw moved to the top of the High Street and featured as mixture of musical marvells from 10am through to the early evening .
The non profit making organisation which runs the festival was overwhelmed with how well supported the event was and were thrilled with all the efforts of the volunteers , musicians and anyone involved in anyway made to make it such a success .
