Festival’ s rip-roaring success
Another year and thanks in part to the glorious weather enjoyed, Stone’ s 2013 Music and Arts Festival has been dubbed a rip-roaring success.
Following the event, now in its fifth year returning in 2012 after a short break, one of the organisers commented:“ It was a fabulous weekend which we hope everyone enjoyed as much as we did!
“ Thanks again must go to all the musicians and other artists who took part, to all our lovely sponsors, and to our fantastic band of volunteers. But mostly, our thanks to you, the people who make the whole thing worthwhile, and who gave so generously to keep it going.”
The week long music and arts festival, in conjuction with main sponsors Wedgwood, kicked off on Friday 5th July and culminated with the free two day festival on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th in the High Street. This saw festival goers line the pavements to enjoy the entertainment which filled the summer air with a mixture of different musical sounds and genres throughout weekend which ended with a stunning headline set on Sunday from no other than The Christians.
Described as‘ the Temptations in ripped jeans’ thousands came out to enjoy the Liverpool band’ s infectious melodies and warm harmonies which went down a storm with the Stone audience.
