calendar and post cards , providing an information board which illuminates the various facilities in the town and has published a series of leaflets over the years on a range of topics . The society also organises an annual Open Gardens event that involves 12 to 14 gardens and usually attracts about 350 visitors from a wide area giving trade to the local hostelries and restaurants .

LONSDALE YOUNG COOKS
Three young cooks , Lucy Spencer , Lucy Dover and Hannah Reeve gathered in the heart of William Perry Butchers recently with master pie maker Steve Hill to put into practice the making of their very own pie designs .
The young ladies were the lucky three selected from the school to take part in the actual manufacture of the Bishop Lonsdale Pie which once had been produced will be available to eat at the school .
ORDINATION CEREMONY
There were three ordinations at the Holy Trinity Church , in Eccleshall at the end of June .
The Reverend Doug Heming curate for Ashley , Broughton , Croxton and Mucklestone , the Reverend Trevor Raaf of St Lawrence Biddulph and the
Reverend Jonathan Roberts of Cotes Heath , Standon , Swynnerton and Tittensor were ordinated into the priesthood by the Bishop of Stafford Geoff Annas .
The ordination was attended by friends , family and members of the congregation from the churches in those parishes , the Archdeacon the venerable Godfrey Stone , the Reverend Pauline Shelton , the reverend Prebendary Gerald Gardiner and the Reverend James Graham of Holy Trinity Church .

BLOOMING MARVELLOUS ACHIEVEMENT
A presentation was made to Mrs Joyce Adnitt at the Holy Trinity Church recently to mark her 21 years as the leader of the Church ’ s Flower Guild .
Jean Hughes presented Joyce with a plant for her garden from the Guild and Sue Baker presented her with a bouquet on behalf of the church as past and present members of the Flower Guild watched on . Joyce will however still be continuing as a member of the Guild .
