Nominal 35ha project area around the diversion bank and gully system part of planned rotational grazing of 1200ha and later 340ha paddock ( including approx . 18.5 ha of diversion bank sub-catchment ripped and reseeded )
Activity
Successfully reseeded and stabilised following 100mm storm after construction . Some channel damage and level sill required maintenance January 2020 . Within the grazing program for the 1200ha and later 340ha paddock .
Part of planned grazing practices for the surrounding paddock with graze periods up to two months and long recovery periods - examples :
• limited grazing in 2018 to allow stabilisation of works ;
• 2500 head for three weeks late summer 2019
• 2000 head four weeks November 2019 ;
• 1000 head during wet season 2020 ;
• heavily-grazed at end of dry season 2020 then subdivided into 340ha paddock 2021 ; and
Nominal project area 35ha
• short-duration rotational grazes by 480 cows and calves end March and July 2021 and then during 2021-22 wet season .
The landholder constructed a stock water dam within the gully at the end of the nominal project area ( however , flooding one of the DAF monitoring sites ).
In Jan 2020 , new manager misunderstands instructions and directs dozer to level secondary head cut and control gully . Disturbed areas reseeded and continued as part of a planned grazing program .

• Orthophoto and elevation capture via drone , for landscape scale monitoring , and aerial images of the site flown September 2017 , May 2018 , August 2019 and January 2022 .
• Photo points were established for annual photo point monitoring at each gully head and were monitored on 24 November 2017 , 8 February 2018 , 16 April 2019 , 25 June 2020 , 13 April 2021 and 24 May 2022 .
• A fixed camera was located on the edge of the main gullied area .
• Livestock movement records were reported by the landholder and recorded .
• Annual paddock walks indicated that little sown pasture germinated , persisted or spread in the 70
