Because the farmhand did his work loyally and faithfully when the skies were clear, he was prepared for any storm. So, when the storm did actually break, he was not concerned or afraid. He could sleep in peace. Moral: If we tend to the things that are important in life, if we are right with those we love and behave in line with our faith, our lives will not be cursed with the aching throb of unfulfilled business. Our words will always be sincere, our embraces will be tight. We will never wallow in the agony of 'I could have, I should have.' We can sleep in a storm. And when it's our time to go, our good-byes will be complete. As your priest, I may be sleeping for a while, but be assured that I am prepared. St Oswald’s wants to see your pancake flipping skills in a final flourish of festivities before Lent begins! The winner will take home their very own prize, and more importantly, the title of “St Oswald’s Pancake Master”. All ages are welcome and encouraged to take part. After the winner is declared tea, coffee and the all-important pancakes will be served. Please bring along toppings to share, along with a donation for your entry into the competition.
