Mothers’ Union: Provincial Retreat 2019
Mothers' Union in Scotland is
part of the Mothers' Union,
which is a worldwide Christian
organisation dedicated to
supporting marriage and family
life. There are over 4 million
members throughout the world.
It is intimately associated with
the Scottish Episcopal Church.
All our branches are based in local
Episcopal Churches. The Primus is
the patron of our Provincial
organisation and the diocesan
bishops are invited to be patron of
the dioceses where we have a
diocesan organisation. Five of the
dioceses have formal organisations
and the other two are linked to an
adjacent diocese either formally or
informally.
Every year, the Mothers' Union in the
Province of Scotland organises
a retreat, which is open both to
members and non-members. This
year, it will be held between Tuesday
9th and Thursday 11th April 2019,
which is in the week before Holy
Week. The venue is St Mary’s
Monastery, Kinnoull, Perth.
St Mary’s, Kinnoull offers a high standard of accommodation in a
beautiful setting. Most of the bedrooms are single with en-suite
shower rooms. There is lift access to all floors. The building and the lift are
wheelchair accessible.
Our leader will be the Revd. Martin Roff, who is Diocesan Supernumerary in
the Diocese of Moray, Ross and Caithness. Martin proposes that the overall
pattern of the Retreat should be a series of talks and led meditations on the
theme “Trust in God, in good times and bad”. There’s more about him on the
webpage ( http://muscotland.org.uk/Retreat.htm).
