Letter from Bishop Gregor
Dear All
The Revd Canon Cedric Blakey is retiring as Vice-Provost of St
Mary's Cathedral on 30th November 2018. Cedric says that anyone from
the diocese is very welcome to attend his final Choral Evensong at St
Mary's Cathedral on Sunday 25th November 2018, The Feast of Christ the
King, when members of the Cathedral Chapter are welcome to robe.
Cedric will continue to serve as convener of the Provincial Committee for
Relations with People of Other Faiths.
Cedric demits office as our Interfaith Adviser and I am delighted to
have this chance to thank him for the valuable work he has done in this
area of our common life and to announce the appointment of The Revd
Maggs McTernan, Assistant Priest at St Margaret's, Newlands, Glasgow as
our new Interfaith Adviser effective from 1st December 2018.
I wish to thank the diocese once more for your extraordinary
generosity in raising £15,437.83 for MND Scotland in the Bishop's Lent
Appeal. I presented the cheque last week to MND in Glasgow and we have
received a very warm letter of thanks which will appear in next year's
Synod papers.
It is a marvellous outcome and speaks volumes about this
diocese. It made me very proud to be able to deliver such a wonderful
cheque.
All blessings, Yours
+Gregor .
