Walk, Walk, Walk!!!
Hey you! Yeah, you! The one reading this article who won’t take 15 minutes to go for a little walk!
There are so many of us out there sitting at our desks, focused on the task at hand who don’t ever take
time for ourselves! I know I’m guilty as well. I have a timer cube right in front of me that I should set
so I break away from the computer at least 15 minutes every hour. The funny thing is, when I do set it
and it goes off, I actually talk to it when “resetting” the alarm saying “yeah, yeah, just a few more
minutes” and that few more minutes – turns into a few more hours! Which I’m sure partially explains
the “growth” of my rear! I am excellent at preaching, but following my own advice – squirrel!
Walking at least 15 minutes a day is not only great for your physical well-being (heart, weight, toning
and more), but also for your mental well-being. Walking can “refresh” your brain and make you feel so
much better!
Keep a pair of sneakers at your desk. Set your alarm to go off in 45 minutes. Take 15 minutes and walk
OUTSIDE of the office, take a deep breath, smile and WALK! By the time you get back to your desk and
change your shoes, your brain will have figured out the problem you were working on before your walk!
Next, set goals for YOU! Setting goals and sticking to them for a few weeks creates a healthy lifestyle
habit!
