Meetings are held at 6:30 p. m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month( except December) at various venues around town, including the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art, Prairie Arts Center, Stillwater Community Center, Modella Art Gallery and The Botanic Garden at OSU. The meetings vary from guest artist demos and hands-on activities to guided museum tours and plein air sketching or painting. The guild is free and open to the public. You may join at any meeting or by messaging its social media pages. Membership dues support the guild’ s programs and the annual Members Show.
STILLWATER COMMUNITY BAND
Formed in 1906, the Stillwater Community Band has more than 90 musicians from across all walks of life who give free concerts throughout the community and surrounding towns. All concerts are free and open to the public and held at 7 p. m. at the Stillwater Community Center. STILLWATER BIG BAND
The Big Band was originally a brass band formed in the early 1990s, according to its website. Woodwinds and a rhythm section were added later. The group started with what they called“ Monday night music therapy” and now travels around the state to perform at different venues. From a full choir and an a capella ensemble to a Gospel ensemble and women’ s ensemble, the Stillwater Community Singers is a diverse group of volunteers who share a passion for music. Auditions aren’ t required, but with a simple belief in the“ power of collective harmony,” all are welcome to join, according

to its website. Members – ranging in age from 20 to 90-plus – offer free concerts to the public three times throughout the year: spring, fall and holiday season, as well as at other special events when requested. Song selections include pop, jazz, Blues, Broadway, spiritual, Gospel and more.
Rehearsals are held from 6:45- 8:15 p. m. Thursdays in the North Stage Room in the Winfrey D. Houston Theater in the Stillwater Community Center.
