Stillwater Sweets Bakery

OFFERS TASTY SURPRISES FOR THE PALATE

Sarah Jones started baking from home as a side hobby , making birthday cakes for family and friends .

Now , the “ local from scratch ” Stillwater Sweets Bakery sees a steady stream of customers at its 110 W . Eighth Ave . location in downtown Stillwater .

“ Custom order cakes is what my main thing is ,” Jones said . But that ’ s expanded to include cookies , cupcakes , cereal bars , cake and pie by-the-slice , cheesecake bars , cake pops , custom treat packs and more . The bakery focuses on taste as its first priority , and believes in the “ power of quality ingredients .”
Although she ’ s not originally from Stillwater , she moved here in 2001 to attend Oklahoma State University , majoring in sociology , after which she married and stayed in Stillwater . When her kids were little , Jones baked at home just for fun . But in 2017 , she started taking her side hobby seriously as more and more customers requested her cakes .
As her business expanded , Jones moved to the ConocoPhillips Oklahoma State University Alumni Center , where she continued baking her custom orders for two years . Then she purchased the storefront on Eighth Avenue and opened the doors in the summer of 2023 .
What made the biggest change for Stillwater Sweets was COVID-19 , Jones said . As most restaurants shut down , Jones ’ business opened up .
Since she was already baking from home , she had an advantage . Porch pickup and no-contact delivery
