Her students have gone out to carry on her teachings . The owner of Everyman in Stillwater was Sinclair ’ s student , she said . Another that owns a barbershop is in Guthrie , was in her school and he received “ business of the year there .”
“ I think the barber school and the salon bring the surrounding towns to Stillwater . Our salon on the strip , it used to be that demographic was just the college . Now the salon and the school bring people in from other towns and all over ,” she said .
The school was just one instrument that helped Sinclair expand in her personal and professional growth .
The beauty trade is in Sinclair ’ s genes ; she watched her mother doing hair since she was toddler .
Sinclair is dual licensed as a Cosmetology and Master Barber Instructor . She grew up close to Stillwater and went to Meridian Technology Center during high school and earned her first license to be a stylist at age 17 .
Sinclair is not only the owner and operator of both businesses , but she is also a mother and grandmother and serves the community helping in economic development with Visit Stillwater and the Chamber of Commerce .
She serves on the National Association of Barber Boards of America and is the executive director for Region Three of the National Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology . She serves the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering , which is responsible for 72,000 licensees .
Bringing out the beauty and bringing out the best in people with all that Sinclair does is not the easiest .
She has challenging days , especially in today ’ s tough world .
