WAS THE MONTH BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND ALL THROUGH THE TOWN, FESTIVITIES COULD BE HEARD WITH HOLIDAY SOUND. LAUGHTER, SINGING AND JINGLE BELLS, RESIDENTS ENJOYED LIGHTS, RIDES AND COCOA SALES.
The season of local holiday activities will kick off in November with everything from holiday shopping to seasonal ice skating and carriage rides.
“ We’ re excited to have the carriage rides and Santa visits this year,” said Stacie McGrew, City of Stillwater Block 34 coordinator.“ That’ s a new element for us that moved from the Chris Salmon Plaza to Block 34. It will pair nicely with the decorations and the ice skating rink.”
BLOCK 34 ICE SKATING RINK
The Block 34 ice skating rink opens Nov. 7 and will operate seven days a week until Jan. 23 for $ 13 per person, including rental skates. The following are the hours of operation for the rink:
• 4-9 p. m. Monday – Thursday
• 4-10 p. m. Friday
• 12-10 p. m. Saturday
• 12-9 p. m. Sunday
• Limited hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’ s Eve.
The ice rink is also available for groups and private skate parties. For more information, email info @ stillwatericerink. com.
FREE DOWNTOWN CARRIAGE RIDES
Free downtown carriage rides at Block 34 will take place on Sundays and Thursdays Dec. 6-23 with additional days on Christmas week:
• 2-5 p. m. Sundays
• 5-8 p. m. Thursdays
• 5-8 p. m. Dec. 21-23
VISITS WITH SANTA at the SANTA HOUSE
Visits with Santa at the Santa House on Block 34 will be available Thursday-Sunday Dec. 6-18 with additional days on Christmas week:
• 6-7:30 p. m. Thursdays
• 6-7:30 p. m. Fridays
• 7:30-8:30 p. m. Dec. 12 in conjunction with Festive Skies on Kicker Stage
• 3-4:30 p. m. Sundays
• 6-7:30 p. m. Dec. 21-23
PARADE of LIGHTS, FESTIVE SKIES DRONE SHOW
In December, Block 34 will host the parade of lights 7-9 p. m. Dec. 3 and its Festive Skies drone show 6:30-8:30 p. m. Dec. 12. Not to mention, the return of Cinema 34 with a showing of the movie“ Elf” with cocoa and cookies to go along with it.
