Pioneer Pathfinder Academy offers handmade products for the holidays

Inside the new Pioneer Pathfinder Academy classroom in the new Stillwater High School building, students were busy with a fall project: preparing fall wreaths for clients across town.
Pathfinder interns wound yarn on spools to make handmade yarn pompom wreaths to sell. Each carefully made pom-pom boasted fall colors in gold, orange, rust and brown. Senior Maclain Halihan’ s task was to tie the pop-poms to the wreaths.
“ It takes a long time,” Halihan said, about 10 minutes for each wreath. And with hundreds of pom-poms to be made, the process was taking longer than expected.
Pioneer Pathfinder Academy teacher and job coach Heather Mitchell said the class would continue making the pop-pom wreaths not only for fall but in red and green colors for the upcoming holiday season.
